From a Paris railway station to your hotel

Paris has several major railway stations. Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon, Gare de l’Est and Montparnasse are different places: use the station printed on your train ticket.

Compare your options

Compare public transport and private travel according to luggage, group size and walking distance inside the station. Meeting on a nearby street is different from platform reception. Agree on the exact exit before arrival.

Use the station printed on your ticket

Paris’s main stations are not interchangeable. Do not confuse a local station near the hotel with the arriving train’s terminus. Provide station name, date, train and time together.

For an airport connection, review arrival after a CDG flight. Passport and luggage come before road travel; booking a car does not protect a train connection from a flight delay.

Distinguish platform, concourse and street

“Outside the station” is vague when there are several exits. Specify a door, street or recognisable landmark. Platform reception must be confirmed separately from ordinary street pickup.

Explain mobility needs and luggage. The group baggage guide links capacity to handling requirements. Allow time to leave the platform and reach the meeting point.

Arrange communication about delays

Know whom to contact and what information to share. A train number is useful but does not promise automatic monitoring or unlimited waiting. Check rescheduling and waiting conditions.

For a meeting afterwards, use our business journey guide. A hotel stop, several meetings and a later return form an itinerary that should not be described as one simple ride.

A practical planning example

If your train arrives at Gare du Nord but the hotel is near another station, keep the names separate. Pickup is at the station on your ticket; drop-off is the hotel’s full address. Specify the meeting exit separately.

Details to agree before requesting

Provide the station, train number, date, arrival time and complete hotel address. Allow time to leave the platform or terminal, especially after international travel. Confirm delays, waiting, multiple drop-offs and return arrangements beforehand.

Your journey checklist

  • Provide station, train, date and time.
  • Describe the exact exit.
  • Confirm any platform reception.
  • Know the delay contact and waiting terms.
